David Taylor
President / Founder



Born into a humble family of fishermen in Hull, England, David is the youngest of 11 children. He became a Christian in 1988 after having had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ which radically changed his lifestyle. In 1993 he gained his degree in Applied Social Sciences at the University in Hull; later being ordained as a minister with the Assemblies of God of Great Britain & Ireland.

Rev. David Taylor studied Missiology and the Spanish language in 1996 at the Assemblies of God college in San Jose, Costa Rica, gaining diplomas in both subjects. He then spent several years as the Director of Evangelism for Teen Challenge in Guatemala.

David arrived in Colombia in 1999 where he currently resides in the city of Santa Marta with his wife Dary Luz and children, Maria Camila, Nathan James & David Hudson. David is the founder of Colombia ChildCare (UK), Colombia ChildCare International with headquarters in Orlando, Florida and the non-profit making charity Fundacion Oasis de Esperanza based in Colombia.



Carl Sconnely
Vice President


Carl Sconnely is the President of Systems 2000, Inc. situated in Orlando, Florida. He brings a wealth of experience to the role of Vice President of CCCI having worked for more than 25 years in the Computer Software Industry. Carl has an incredible compassion and desire to help underpriviledged children in Colombia. His vision is to raise sufficient support to enable CCCI to meet the basic needs of each child who comes under the auspices of the charity.

 



Cindy Jaeger
Director

- Cindy Jaeger
Cindy is in private practice as a Mental Health Counselor in Port Orange, FL as well as part of the United Presbyterian church staff in Daytona Beach, FL helping to coordinate their goal of congregational transformation. She holds a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Cindy is a committed Christian who is involved in the community (both locally and internationally), and is a voice for social change.

Two of Cindy's life verses are:

"Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unspotted from the world". (James 1:27)

"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ". (Gal 6:2)


Chuck Cooper
Director

Chuck Cooper

Chuck Cooper is a member of Calvary Assembly in Winter Park, Florida, and has been an active member in both home and world missions for many years. Chuck brings an abundance of experience and wisdom to the CCCI board room, where, amongst other duties, he operates on a pastoral care level to David Taylor and the rest of the board members. Chuck is passionate about the work amongst the poorest of poor children of Colombia, stating that no man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child. Born in the state of Florida, he presently resides in Longwood, Florida with his wife, Priscilla, of 45 years.



Paul Selvage
Director


Born in the UK, Paul lived and worked in Asia for over 9 years travelling extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.

Now living in Chicago he's a Deacon at Hobson Road Community Church having served on the board there for the last 4 years. Married with Sara, Paul has 3 children Stefanie, Joshua, and Levi.

Currently he's a partner in Blue Cargo Group which is based in Colombia. Paul brings a wealth of experience to the Colombia ChildCare International board where his focus primarily is on future growth and development.


Barbara Dykstra
Director

 

Barbara Dykstra is married to Ken, they live in Orlando, Florida. Barbara passionately believes in God. She devotes much time to family and friends, worship and learning God's Word + how He desires to bring Heaven to Earth, right here + right now.

Barbara's lifetime career has been spent in cargo transportation and logistics mainly in the Orlando area. She brings a wealth of experience of business knowledge, organizational management and sales to the Colombia ChildCare board.

Barbara finally understands God's vision and purpose of family: Creating Godly children. Barbara shares the vision of Colombia Childcare's purpose of sharing God to all HIS children and desires greatly to aid Colombia Childcare in America in all possible manners, especially in supporting the individual children of Colombia Childcare.
Barbara + Ken attended Calvary Assembly of God in Winter Park, Florida. 



Cheryl Cope
Director

 

Cheryl Cope was born in Charleston, West Virginia and is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God who brings a wealth of experience to the Colombia ChildCare board of directors.  She grew up in a minister's home, where her father served as a pastor and then as Superintendent of the Appalachian District of the Assemblies of God.

Feeling called to full-time ministry in the ninth grade, Cheryl made plans to attend Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. There she received a BA Degree in Sacred Music and sang in the Revivaltime Choir, the national radio voice of the Assemblies of God.  While at college, Cheryl met and married George Cope.

Cheryl's ministry has reached beyond being a minister’s wife. Her calling to sacred music has been an active part of ministry, including serving as the Minister of Music in the first two churches that she and George pastored.  She is also a gifted Bible teacher, uses her administrative skills in leadership roles, and has directed numerous church dramas.

Today, Cheryl serves alongside George, who is the Lead Pastor of Calvary Assembly in Orlando, Florida. Cheryl teaches several weekly Bible studies, as well as giving leadership to Women’s Ministries.

She is the proud mother of one daughter, Jessyca, son-in-law Greg, and the grandmother of Izzabella, Luke & Lily.
